We’re busy working on our repertoire for our annual winter concert, “Hope, Peace, Love, Joy,” which we’ll be performing on December 22, 3 PM, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (7575 N Paseo del Norte). In addition to some holiday favorites, we’ll be singing songs of… well… hope, peace, love, and joy:
- “Made for This” and “As We Sing We Live” by composer Mark Hayes (commissioned pieces)
- Oscar Peterson’s “Hymn to Freedom”
- Linda Spevacek’s “Leave No Song Unsung” and “A Jubilant Gloria”
- “Shalom” by Dan Forrest
- “Safe Places of the Heart,” written in remembrance of those who lost their lives on June 12, 2016, in Orlando Florida, by Robert Cohen and Ronald Cadmus
- “Sing We Now of Christmas” (Bill Wolaver arrangement)
- “The Chanukah Song (We Are Lights)” by Steven Schwartz / Steve Young
- “Psalm 150:6” by Robert Applebaum
- “Iraqi Peace Song” (Lori Tennenhouse arrangement)
- “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas” arranged by our own Terrie Ashbaugh!
- “Deck the Hall” (Mack Huff arrangement)
Along with our fabulous accompanist, Meilly Mendez, we’ll be joined by several special guest instrumentalists. So save the date and stay tuned for more updates; we look forward to sharing these wonderful pieces with you!
