Join the Arizona Women’s Chorus
We accept new members in September and January, when rehearsals are open to visitors or those who are interested in joining. Scholarships are available, and tuition is discounted if you pay for an entire year in advance. Previous choral experience is required. The ability to sight read, although not required, is helpful. About Rehearsals
We have a great time in our rehearsals, which focus on choral and vocal techniques. The rehearsal year is divided into two semesters; the fall session usually begins the first Monday in September after Labor Day and the spring session begins in early January. There are no rehearsals in the summer.
We rehearse every Monday night from 7–9 PM at St. Philip’s in the Hills.
Auditions
Our conductor, Terrie Ashbaugh, hears auditions for all new singers to determine how each singer and each voice fits within the chorus. During the audition, she assesses your range and voice part while you sing a melody from a familiar song like “Silent Night.” The audition process takes place before the semester’s rehearsals start.
