Pima County, City of Tucson Honor AWC

AWC recently received two different honors recognizing our 40th anniversary: a Certificate of Appreciation from Rex Scott, chair of the Pima County Board of Supervisors, District 1, and an official Proclamation from Mayor Regina Romero declaring December 13 “Arizona Women’s Chorus Singing Together Day.”

Supervisor Scott awarded us the Certificate at one of our 2025 winter concerts, “Remembrances,” which was held at Catalina Foothills High School. The concert was a celebration of our 40th anniversary; we performed some of our favorite pieces from the past 40 years, commemorated our history in slideshows and videos, and held a reception for attendees and supporters after the concert.

These two prestigious honors highlight our dedication to enriching the cultural landscape of the region through the power of choral music, commend our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and acknowledge our high-quality performances. Over the past 40 years, AWC has performed at numerous local events, collaborated with many other choral groups, and provided opportunities for women of all backgrounds to participate in choral singing.

The Proclamation and Certificate serve as a testament to our significant role in enhancing the arts and strengthening community bonds throughout the greater Tucson area.
